This instrument is in Fair-Condition showing signs of wear & age and was modified quite heavily. According to the previous owner, these modifications were done some time in the late ’60s to early ’70s. The original finish has been stripped, the original pickguard was removed, the original pickup was replaced with a EB Humbucker from the same era and the wooden rest was moved from its original position to the left side of the strings. The metal hardware of this instrument is quite tarnished and a bit corroded, though still functional. The control harness has been replaced with new components as the previous parts were non-salvageable and were not the original Fender components as well. There is a screw missing for the G string tuning machines that locks the gear to the post. The frets on this bass have been leveled once or twice, though they still have plenty of life left.
As it stands, this instrument is fully functional and very nice to play. However, if one wanted to convert it back to its original specifications, it is still possible as the original pickup cavity is still intact as well as all original mounting holes for the pickguard. Any additional holes that were drilled are on the inside of where the pickguard would be and would not show.
We inspect each and every instrument we ship out for maximum playability. We adjust the action and adjust intonation when needed. If you would like a specific adjustment, just add it to your order notes and we would be happy to adjust to your liking.
