Picked up my PONO AT-CR Ukulele from Penny Lane at the height of the pandemic. First thing I used my stimulus money on. Best money ever spent. This Uku can truly speak! Armando Zuppa was great about having Uku’s out and ready for test runs. The selection at Penny Lane is the best in South Florida!! Thank God!!!

I’ve been playing guitar on and off for some time now but I still have a lot to learn when it comes to differences and the general structure/build of guitars. This can make going to guitar stores a bit intimidating at times cause I feel like I don’t know enough about guitars and I don’t want to annoy the store employees with questions but Russell had a genuine interest and took the initiative to educate more.I went in for my first time thinking I was going in ONLY for some maintenance on my guitar but I’d been thinking about getting a classical guitar for some time now. I spoke with Russell about the thoughts I’ve had regarding classical guitars and what I’d like out of a classical guitar while he was doing the maintenance on my guitar and within 2 minutes he had what I was looking for in my hands. I went back the next day for it.I live in Fort Lauderdale, I will probably use this spot for any guitar related services I need and will definitely recommend it to people.

Absolutely recommend! We had the best experience with Penny Lane!! We purchased a microphone and had some issues with it while we were overseas, they made sure we got a replacement all the way to our address! Sean made sure the manufacturer contacted us and kept in touch with us the whole time. With all the inconveniences, that wasn't their fault, they handled it with patience and understanding.Thank you guys, we will definitely keep you in mind for the future!

Armando helped me out with my acoustic guitar with the action. He answered all my questions and was very patient with me. I usually end up going to Guitar Center out of convenience, though had a terrible experience so I came here to check it out. Not only is he genuinely trying to help you, it is something you see he really enjoys doing.

I bought a steel drum from Penny Lane, I dealt via email with Armando and the transaction was hyper-smooth and pleasant. I received the drum in 48h. We ought to support small shops and make sure they continue to exist and guarantee local presence and variety of offer and occupation.

My husband and I have frequented Penny Lane a number of times during lockdown. We took our guitars and violins to be fixed and each time were very impressed by both Russel’s knowledge and professionalism as well as the work that was done. I highly recommend you go if a) something needs fixing or b) you are looking for an instrument - it’s a large showroom with plenty of stringed instruments, new and used, on display. On top of this I left my purse in the store and before I realized it was missing they called me.

I have been a customer of Penny Lane Music Emporium for a few years now. I have bought and sold instruments through them. I’ve taken ukulele and guitar lessons with them. I’ve bought strings, picks, tuners and musical gadgets for myself and for family. I’ve attended concerts, jams and workshops at the store. What I am trying to say is that I’ll take any excuse to visit Penny Lane.If you want a musical instrument and want honest, knowledgeable advice and a fair deal, nothing beats Penny Lane, really.I don’t think there is another store like it in South Florida. A real treasure.

I purchased a Reunion Blues case from Penny Lane. I've known Armando for some time and decided to purchase from P.L. since they had in stock. I live in Colorado and so wanted to ensure that the dimensions would fit my instrument. The staff took the time to speak with me on the phone, take measurements real time and ensure that I would be happy with my purchase. It arrived in good order after it shipped and I received a personal note enclosed from the staff thanking me for my purchase. I can only imagine what a purchase experience would be in-store. Check them out, you will be pleased with the results. Highly recommend!

Penny Lane is one of the coolest acoustic(and otherwise) music stores I’ve ever experienced! They have all sorts of high quality instruments, including specialty and niche items that you would never find at any big chain store. Armando and his staff are super friendly, highly knowledgeable, and share their passion for music and music education in such a fun way! I had the privilege of playing a live show there with a band I toured with a couple years ago and the whole environment is just fun & uplifting! Definitely check them out if you get a chance!

I was looking to buy a Bluegrass guitar and Penny Lane Emporium had such a good selection and a very detailed knowledge of the instruments they sell. I have also ordered mandolin cases, Ear Trumpet Labs Microphones and other accessories from Penny Lane Emporium and they always get me a good price. You dont want to buy from these big online stores from people who dont know a thing about an instruments creation, you want Penny Lane Emporium who has experts in each field.

It’s been a while that I wanted to come here and write a review for this guys, finally I took the time that they deserve and came here to say how amazing they are, I am 25years old, and I have always dreamed on playing guitar.Everybody around me learned how to play when they were young kids, they would always say that for me would be harder to learn because I am already “too old”, and that thought really made me feel like I Would never play guitar, specially with the busy adult life of working 2 jobs and been married. As New Years resolution I set a goal for 2020, -LEARN HOW TO PLAY GUITAR -.I started taking classes with Armando, and now I am on my 5th class, “playing” a simple version of I WISH YOU WERE HERE- PINK FLOYD. Armando has so much Knowledge, he knows exactly what will be your difficulties and he has a little trick to teach for every single one of them, he is patient and he cheer with you whenever you achieve a new ability with the guitar. I have to thank you guys so much !!! This classes are making me the happiest !!!! If you are looking to learn and it’s already on your 20’s don’t give up, come to Armando at Penny Lane, they are the Best !!!

I highly recommend Penny Lane Music Emporium. Several years ago I was gifted my first Ukulele, a beautiful Kamoa Grand Concert. Although the instrument was not purchased at Penny Lane, Armando was a distributor of the Kamoa Ukulele and he was gracious enough to fix the fretboard which was producing some dead notes. I could have returned the Uke to Hawaii because it has a lifetime warranty, but the shipping would be almost more than the cost of the Uke. Armando fixed it for free. So when I was ready for my next purchase, I went straight to Armando at Penny Lane and pick up by new Kala Tenor Uke. I live in Miami and am getting ready to make another trip up north to have Armando do some custom work on my Kala.

Penny Lane Music Emporium is a fantastic instrument shop. Russel has an extraordinary ear for instruments and was quick to understand what I wanted in a guitar. He helped me install a very detailed by finicky pickup, in my new handmade Breedlove guitar, finding exactly the best spot to place it and that made all the difference in how it sounds. He also repaired a bad fret and adjusted the action exactly to my liking. Russel, you hit a home run with me and created a fantastic experience and sound for me. I'm so happy to know you and have you over there.

This is my favorite guitar store- amazing people work here! Today, I went to have my acoustic guitar repaired, restrung, and spruced up, and I was helped by the friendliest gentleman, Armando. I was able to drop it off and pick it up the very same day. I love this place!

When I wanted to try out a Gold Tone mandocello before buying it, I headed up to Penny Lane. Oh, by the way, it's a 5 1/2 hour drive up from Key West to get to them. It was absolutely worth it! The staff at Penny Lane was very friendly and low key.I had called ahead, and they had reserved a beautiful mandocello with a "Hold" tag on it so it didn't get sold berfore I got there. They had a quiet, comfortable environment where I was able to play to my hearts content (almost four hours). The atmosphere was easy going with no pressure to buy.* Five stars! Highly rated!* Expert staff who are happy to see you and find out more about the kind of music you want to play!Jeff from Key West / Blarney Rubble Band

I have bought 3 nechville banjos from Armando, at penny lane. The expertise that he shows and time he takes with each customer is incredible. Over the last 6+ years I’ve been going to penny lane for any and all of my musical needs. Their dedication to the customer is only surpassed by their dedication to the music, and the joy it brings. All skill levels, the encouragement to jam, is unreal. I’ve been lucky enough to live close to this one of a kind music (experience) store. Thanks for being here!

I was up at Penny Lane today. It is a destination for me. It is South Florida's best shop for nice acoustic instruments and accessories. Lots of high end instruments but there is something for every ability level and budget. Armando, Stacey, and Russell are knowledgeable, helpful, and willing to do research to assist with new products, repairs, etc. Today, Armando made calls to help me find a particular brand of banjo string. Honest customer service. I don't know what I would do without Penny Lane Music Emporium. A+++

Penny Lane carries some of the finest acoustic instruments around! From the boutique Collings and Waterloo brands to the more traditional Martin and Alvarez, you’ll be shopping some of the finest instruments ever made. And don’t sleep on the Eastman’s or the gigantic assortment of ukuleles, banjos, and mandolins! I love the store, the staff is always great and gracious, and the owner is one of the very best around! Someday I’d like to see a Penny Lane North in the Palm Beach area, but that’s a small qualm... keep it up guys!!

I had been looking online at buying A Ukulele. But I wanted to get a hands on feel for the instrument. I searched for Ukulele Fort Lauderdale not expecting to get a result back, but I was wrong. There was a place a mile from my home that sold ukuleles. I jumped in the car and drove there.Inside the walls were slap full of stringed instruments. They had more ukulele brands and models than I ever even knew existed. From all prices. 40 bucks to $5000. The guy that owns the place is great and patient and you can tell he loves putting the right instrument in the right persons hands. Not to knock Guitar Center but the two experiences of shopping and purchasing couldn’t be different. I’ve been back several times. Great knowledgeable staff and great casual music store with no pressure and a very laid back feel. If you want to buy a stringed instrument head right to Penny Lane.

Armando Zuppa, the owner of Penny Lane Emporium, is a true musician and a fine man. Always patient and willing to advice and takes his time with you. The selection of music instruments is impressive and the knowledge of the rest of the staff is impressive too. The fantastic music instructors are skilled and friendly and each teaching studio is accordingly equipped. My children have taken music lessons there for years, singing, ukelele, guitar and drums. I would recommend Penny Lane Emporium to anyone!

I went to this store last month to buy a new bow for my violin. Because the one that was in the case was very damaged. So when I get to the store they tell me that their bows are out of stock and to come back within a month while they order so more bows. So I came back in a months time, and bought a carbon fiber bow which was very expensive compared to the traditional violin bows. So when I made the purchase the store clerk takes the bow out of the plastic bag it came in and he put it in the case. I got home and opened the case to get the bow out and it had broken. I was so angry and very dissatisfied with the very Cheap quality of the pretty expensive item. I would just be very cautious when dealing with this company!

This isn’t just any old music store. It’s a local business that has a very knowledgeable owner with a respect and passion for all kinds of music but particularly American bluegrass. He often hosts intimate live concerts of well known musicians from around the globe. If you’re interested in seeing a live concert with less than 50 people, meet the performers, no added fees for parking or waiting in line, get on this mailing list. It’s incredibly special.

Well this is an amazing store with fantastic people, great environment amazing instruments selections and great repair shop.I brought my 2008 Fender American Stratocaster to change pick up and set it up and Russell went above and behind to make it right he is very good and responsive I'm very picky with my guitars and since it was the first time on this shop I was a bit worry, however from now on all my guitars will be in Russell hands, no more worries.Thank you Penny Lane, and thank you Russell I'm a very happy customer.

I browsed a lot at Penny Lane before I made any purchases or repairs. It has been over a year since I started going there. I have taken in multiple ukuleles and my vintage banjo in for some fixing up. Everyone at Penny Lane has been positive and helpful. With regards to repair on my banjo, I felt the owner (Armondo) was very modest with his approach. It clearly needed some work, but his first initiative was to make sure I was going to use it so he only recommended the string change and an excellent book to get me started. Less than a week later I returned because one of my kids had accidentally broke a string already. Armondo was very kind to not only set me up with a replacement when I told him what happened, but he didn't charge me for the extra effort. I'm sure it was something we had done in our home and he was very generous when I was honest about what had happened. He also offered to show me how to fix it myself in the future. I also have a tendency to want to buy accessories, and in the case of banjo I asked about the finger picks. He didn't push an extra sale on me, rather encouraged me to jump-start things with the book and my bare fingers before getting too caught up. Since then I have proven I am committed enough to banjo to merit the upgrades we had spoken of. Last weekend I took my banjo in and when I returned it was upgraded and it wasn't even as expensive as I had expected it to be. I do not have the feeling the staff at Penny Lane are looking to take advantage or over-do things that can be left alone. I have seen every indication that the staff value nurturing long-term customer relationships by helping those who are musically inclined to become more educated about their instruments and goals. I am grateful to have this local resource and have been nothing but pleased with each of my encounters.

Owner seems like an honest guy but do NOT use for repairs of Digital Pianos. I was charged 95 dollars for a repair and as you can see in the photos the the key of A is clearly not aligned so it still does not play properly. They sent the piano out to be fixed and the repair guy wanted an ADDITIONAL 30 dollars for a part to fix it. Total cost would be 125.00 to make the repair. Charging 95 dollars and giving me back a piano that still does not work is unacceptable. This is NOT the place to take your digital piano for repairs. I can not speak for any other aspect of the store other than the Owner does seem like genuine guy.*****Addition*** To respond to the owners reply I now have to take back my assessment of him as honest because I was certainly never told you would fix it at no charge other than the part or I would have agreed, You should have just let the review stand and not thrown in a lie to try and make yourself look better. If you're willing to lie once you will certainly do it again. I recommend EVERYONE take their business elsewhere.
