Description
This mandolin is in Very-Good Condition showing only normal wear & tear for a 100+ year old mandolin with minor nicks/dings/scratches throughout. There has been a couple repairs made on this instrument though. There was a small crack on the headstock as well as some separation near the endpin, Both of these issues have been repaired by a professional luthier. There is a previously repaired crack that’s visible along the back that looks to have been done some time ago, this repair was inspected by a professional luthier and deemed to be secure and sound. Included is what appears to be the original hardshell case by Geib & Schaefer with green silk lining, this case in Good-Condition for its age all latches work but the exterior and interior have degraded a bit (more so the exterior)
We believe this instrument to have been built somewhere between 1918 and 1920 due to the 13-3/4″ long scale length, “Pat Applied For” on the pickguard and its symmetric shape. Not much else is known about this instrument, if you have any further knowledge regarding this item and would like to share, please feel free to message us
This Mandolin has been professionally setup and plays very well with a good action ( 2/32″ at the 12th fret)
