ZOE GUIGENO:
An islander from the west coast of Canada, Zoe Guigueno is a versatile musician who lives in New York City and tours the world playing bass & singing. Her dad listened to Neil Young, Randy Newman and Van Morrison; her mom listened to Tracy Chapman, Lauryn Hill and Queen. Combined with community-potluck-Rise-Up-Singing jams, and discovering Dave Holland on the radio at age 12, Zoe’s musical tastes unfurled in many directions throughout her childhood.
While the upright bass is her primary instrument, she has written countless songs and instrumental pieces on the guitar and piano. Her debut solo recording, Five Songs, was released in September 2018, after a three-year studio collaboration with Brooklyn-based producer Alec Spiegelman. Zoe has a new album in the pipes, to be released spring 2020.
