Born in Beckenham in 1971, Internationally acclaimed guitarist Richard Smith is a veteran road dog sometimes referred to as “The hardest working man in the biz.”
Having performed his solo all over the USA, Europe, Asia, Australia, New Zealand, Brazil with his solo show, he has also performed on stage with Tommy Emmanuel, Chet Atkins, Les Paul, Eric Clapton, Chas and Dave, Joe Brown and countless favorites in Country, Jazz and Classical settings.
From his days in the UIK with his brothers Rob and Sam as the Richard Smith trio, to duets with his cellist wife Julie Adams, to tours with Tommy Emmanuel and having produced a number of albums for other artists in his studio in Goodlettsville TN, he has kept a full schedule for the last 25 years.
Currently working on a new solo CD, his latest recording project with gypsy jazz great Joscho Stephan and virtuoso multi-instrumentalist Rory Hoffman has been a hit on their occasional tours together in the US and Europe.
2024 brings the new year in with a tour of the southern states and down to Florida, until April when he heads out west for a three month mega tour in GA, TX, NM, AZ, UT, MT, WA and CA.
